F and J drove us across the Chunnel into France, to Champagne, where we had good food and wine.
We went on a tour of Pommery, which was educational, but the highlight of the trip was passing a family pushing cartloads of just-purchased bubbly out of the JM Gobbilard shop in Hautvilliers to their cars.
I can't really remember much more, partly because I wasn't taking notes... or perhaps I was drunk most of the time!
